Carol L. Schutz, 54, of La Crosse passed away Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.

Carol was born Oct. 2, 1961, in La Crosse, to Charles K. and Amy Rose (Jacobson) Johnson. She attended La Crosse schools, and was a 1979 graduate, of La Crosse Central High School. She married Tom Schutz Sept. 17, 1983, and they later divorced.

Carol loved cooking and family gatherings, and especially loved spending time with her grandson, Hayden.

She is survived by her sons, Mike (age 30) of Onalaska, Joe (age 27) of La Crosse, and Josh (age 24) of Mankato, Minn.; her grandson, Hayden; her father, Charlie Johnson of La Crosse; two brothers, Randy (Heidi) Johnson and David (Wendy) Johnson, both of La Crosse; a brother-in-law, Dennis Potaracke of La Crosse; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her mother, Amy; and a sister, Sandy Potaracke.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse. The Rev. Dr. Dennis C. Johnson will officiate.
