Ronald J. Strittmater, 56, of La Crosse, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 1, 2017.

He was born in La Crosse on April 2, 1961, to Harold and Gladys (Witt) Strittmater, Sr. He was a 1979 graduate of La Crosse Central High School and attended UW-Stout.

Ron was an accomplished guitarist and played in the band, Stryker, in the 1980’s. He was also a talented writer and enjoyed writing poetry. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make friends and family laugh. Ron’s greatest joy was his family. He dearly loved his children and was very proud of them.

He is survived by his children, Britney Strittmater (Joshua Schultz), Brandon (Colleen Hogan), Brent, Joanna and Megan; a granddaughter, Everly, and a little one on the way; sisters, Darlene (Larry) Nelson, Debbie (Jeff) Severson; brothers, Harold Jr., Gerald, Wayne (Kathy), Larry (Patti), Glenn (Jane), and Dale (Ellah); and many nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenneth; and an infant sister, Betty.

A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, November, 8th, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. So., La Crosse. Rev. Brian D. Konopa will officiate.
