Michael Robert Moen, age 63, of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 15, 2024.

Mike was born on December 15, 1960, to Robert and Joan Moen in Racine, WI. After Mike graduated from La Crosse Central High School in 1979, he pursued a degree in Business at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse.

After graduation, Mike joined the Marine Corp as an officer, achieving the rank of Major before retiring from the Marine Corp. While in the Marine Corp, Mike earned his MBA.

Mike spent an accomplished 16 years at Target as a Senior Engineer where he left a remarkable impact. He was well known by his family, friends and coworkers for his sense of humor, joy, generosity and kind spirit.

Mike and the love of his life, Roxy Hittesdorf, built a life together that included Roxy’s children - Ashley (Chris) and their children, Logan and Camden, as well as Matthew (Kristen) and their children, Branch and Teagan. Mike loved his role as a grandpa, building things for the kids, attending their events and freely sharing his love of Sponge Bob Square Pants.

Mike was an accomplished and passionate sailor, enjoying summers on the boat with Roxy and their sailor friends in Washburn, WI. Mike also enjoyed woodworking and making many treasured items for family and friends. Mike was a true adventurer, enjoying scuba diving, snow and water skiing, and spelunking. Mike had a newfound love of pickleball, helping construct a pickleball court on the street in front of his house to share with his much-loved neighbors. Mike loved animals especially his cats.

Mike is survived by the love of his life, Roxy Hittesdorf; Roxy's children, Matthew Hittesdorf and Ashley (Chris) Jilek; 4 grandchildren; his parents, Robert and Joan (Lietzau) Moen; his sister, Ann (Jason) Feist; and nephews, Aaron (Mindy) Feist and Ryan Feist.

A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 - 4:00 pm on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Green Haven Golf Course, 2800 Green Haven Rd, Anoka, Minnesota. Casual attire is encouraged. Military honors will be presented at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Animal Humane Society.
